Job description For our customer, the European Space Agency ESA, we are seeking to recruit an experienced ElectroMagnetic Compatibility EMC Antenna Measurements Engineer to work at ESAs ESTEC site in Noordwijk, in the Netherlands. Responsibilities You will be assigned to ESAESTECs ElectroMagnetic Compatibility Section within the Directorate of Technical and Quality Management. Reporting to the Head of Section in ESTEC, you will provide functional support in EMC engineering to the Agencys projects throughout all phases of project life cycle. This includes Definition and assessment of EMC requirements at both System and Equipment level. Definition and assessment of EMC test and verification procedures of spacecraft equipment and systems. Electromagnetic and circuital analyses. Assessment of EMC test results, EMC nonconformances and Request for Waivers. Troubleshooting activities for spacecraft equipment and system exhibiting electromagnetic interference. Active participation to Spacecraft or payloads Preliminary Design Reviews PDR, Critical Design Reviews CDR and Flight Acceptance Reviews FAR. Witness project EMC tests and perform tests in the Sections own EMC lab Act as support to ESA Payload Safety Review Panel for electrical safety and EMC. This is a full time position located at ESTEC, Noordwijk, The Netherlands. The requested start of work is July 2018 or as soon as possible thereafter. Qualifications Competencies The successful candidate shall have An MSc or PhD in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. At least 4 years of relevant professional working experience with background and experience in EMC as well as laboratory testing for EMC. Expertise in EMC analysis and testing through industrial experience. Proven industrial experience in spacecraft EMC system and equipment engineering. Familiarity with spacecraft antenna and EMC analyses Expertise in using Matlab for data processing and evaluation. Acquaintance with both Industrial EMC practices and the Agency review processes. Assessment of EMC test data, specifications and Request for Waivers. Familiarity with the relevant space standards in the domain including ECSS standards. At least 4 years expertise in EMC analysis and testing through relevant industrial work experience Proven industrial experience in spacecraft work ideally an EMC engineer who can perform DC magnetic measurements as well as measurements in an AC magnetic measurement facility Expertise in using Matlab for data processing and evaluation.
