Accurately Characterize Loss and Reflection of Long, Embedded Coaxial Transmission Systems

2014-05-13 15:59:21| rfglobalnet Downloads

This application covers an introduction to typical problems that occur when coaxial transmission systems are permanently installed in an enclosed environment, the benefits of swept frequency measurements over single or multiple CS frequency point measurements (along with a detailed list of what is needed to perform said measurements), step-by-step instruction of the procedure, and more

Accurately Characterize Loss And Reflection Of Long, Embedded Coaxial Transmission Systems

2014-05-06 14:54:57| rfglobalnet Downloads

Properly measuring end-to-end loss in coaxial and waveguide systems can present significant challenges once those systems are permanently installed (embedded) and their physical ends are located at far distances away from each other. In this application note, we will show how it is possible to easily and accurately measure end-to-end loss and reflection on embedded coaxial transmission systems using a swept frequency range, where each end of the system is separated by long physical distances. We will also demonstrate how the S820E is also capable of performing these measurements with only one calibration required.

Flashing Dome Signal Lights feature triple reflection system.

2014-03-12 13:30:50| Industrial Newsroom - All News for Today

Consuming 1.2–6.4 W, depending on color and input voltage, Series PES-A and PEW-A are available in blue, red, amber, and green with intensities of 1600, 1800, 2000, and 3700 mcd, respectively. All LED light configurations can operate continuously or in flashing mode, switch selectable for 60, 120, or 180 fpm. Measuring 82 mm in diameter by 127 mm tall, PES-A models are rated IP23, or IP55 with optional rubber gasket. IP54-rated PEW-A models have 107 mm diameter base and are 152 mm tall. Attackers use NTP reflection in huge DDoS attack

2014-02-11 20:46:46| InfoWorld: Top News

Attackers abused insecure Network Time Protocol servers to launch what appears to be one of the largest DDoS (distributed denial-of-service) attacks ever, this time against the infrastructure of CloudFlare, a company that operates a global content delivery network. The attack was revealed Monday on Twitter by Matthew Prince, CloudFlare's CEO, who said that it's "the start of ugly things to come" because "someone's got a big, new cannon."

Tragic Year For Wildland Firefighters Ends In Reflection

2013-12-28 15:49:00| Climate Ark Climate Change & Global Warming Newsfeed

National Public Radio: Thirty-four wildland firefighters died in the line of duty this year. Some of those fatalities were isolated incidents, but one event captured the nation's attention, sparking a larger conversation about the new dangers firefighters face. That event unfolded in central Arizona on Sunday afternoon, June 30. "I'm here with Granite Mountain Hot Shots, our escape route has been cut off," says a crew boss on recently released radio traffic from the Yarnell Hill Fire. "We are preparing a deployment...
