Motorola Mobility confirms phase-out of Motorola brand

(Telecompaper) Motorola Mobility has issued an official statement to clarify the reported move by parent company Lenovo to phase out the Motorola brand to focus on the product sub-brands Moto and Vibe. Although the Motorola brand will become less central to marketing, as a wholly owned subsidiary of Lenovo, Motorola Mobility will remain the engineering, design and manufacturing engine for all of the mobile business group's smartphones and wearables. In addition, the iconic M "batwing" logo will continue to be used extensively.

Smithfield Foods continues pig gestation crate phase-out

Smithfield Foods says it is continuing to make progress on ending the practice of keeping female hogs in small metal crates while pregnant at its U.S. facilities.
