Luminant ends agreement, forcing contractor to cut more than 300 jobs

Dallas-based Luminant told CB&I Stone & Webster Inc. last week that it would discontinue the teaming agreement the companies have for the Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant in Glen Rose, Texas. CB&I will cut 322 jobs at that location.

Tyson Foods plans to cut human antibiotics in chicken

Tyson Foods Inc., the largest poultry producer in the United States, says they plan to eliminate the use of human antibiotics in its chicken flocks by September of 2017. McDonald's Corp., which gets much of their chicken meat from Tyson Foods Inc., say they plan to have all of their U.S. stores gradually stop buying chicken raised with human antibiotics over the next two years.

Tyson Foods Inc, the largest U.S. poultry producer, plans to eliminate the use of human antibiotics in its chicken flocks by September 2017 - one of the most aggressive timelines yet set by an American poultry company. The Arkansas-based chicken and meat giant also said it is working on ways to curtail such on-farm drug practices at its other protein businesses, which include pork and beef.

Ryanair: We'll cut fares by up to 15pc as oil gets cheaper

Ryanair expects to cut its fares by between 10pc and 15pc over the next two years as the benefits of lower oil prices are passed on to consumers, Michael O'Leary has said. Asked by French newspaper 'Le Journal Du Dimanche' whether prices could fall from current levels, the Ryanair chief executive said: "Absolutely, by at least 10pc-15pc over the next two years.

Aircel, Vodafone India cut rates after Nepal earthquake

(Telecompaper) In the wake of the earthquake in Nepal, Indian mobile operator Aircel will offer free calls to Nepal on 27 and 28 April. The facility has been extended to all prepaid and postpaid Aircel customers across India for the next 48 hours, in light of the vulnerable situation prevailing in Nepal after the massive earthquake. Additionally, those customers travelling to Nepal during this time will also get Free Incoming while Roaming into Nepal for the next 48 hours. Aircel will in addition waive off International Roaming Rental Deduction for its prepaid customers. Vodafone India said that all calls made from its network from anywhere in India to Nepal will be charged as per local rate. This means calls will cost INR 1 per minute against the regular rate of INR 12 per minute, with immediate effect up to 10.00 am to 28 April.
