Robotic Industries Association (RIA) announced Carole Franklin, PMP, as new Director of Standards Development for RIA. As expert project manager and facilitator, Franklin's prior work with consulting firm Booz Allen Hamilton included process improvement and communication projects for clients at federal R&D facility (TARDEC). "After seeing robotics up close while supporting TARDEC," said Franklin, "I’ve been looking for an opportunity to get more deeply involved in the industry."

Robotic Industries Association (RIA) announced launch of one website, located on RIA website (Robotics Online), that pays tribute to Joseph F. Engelberger, who is known as "the father of robotics." RIA also announced that nominations are being accepted for Joseph F. Engelberger robotics awards, which are presented annually to individuals for excellence in robotics technology development, application, education, and leadership. Applications must be received by January 15, 2016.
