Berlin won't migrate to open source, looks to open standards instead

The German city-state of Berlin won't migrate to open source software. Instead, its parliament decided in principle to choose workplace IT based on open standards. Berlin's Green party had proposed to have 25 percent of its standardized IT workplaces running open source software by 2018, according to the proposal that was voted down by the state parliament on Monday.

Safety rated to CAT IV 600 V, MT400 Series offers measurement range from 20–200 GΩ with adjustable insulation test voltages from 250–1,000 V and 50–1,000 V. Special application instrument offers voltages from 10–100 V in 1 V steps. Bluetooth wireless data transfer and test result storage are available on some models. For cable resistance measurements, testers can measure continuity at 200 mA or 20 mA down to 0.01 Ω. Units are IP54-rated and combine analog arc and dual digital display readout. Senators David Vitter (R-La.) and the late Frank Lautenberg (D-N.J.) in May introduced the Chemical Safety Improvement Act (CSIA), later designated S. 1009. CSIA is a new approach to Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) reform that industry stakeholders may view favorably when compared to prior legislative efforts.
