India's GSAT-15 satellite launched successfully

GSAT-15, Indias latest communications satellite, has been launched successfully by the Ariane 5 VA-227 launch vehicle. The 3164 kg GSAT-15 carries communication transponders in Ku-band as well as a GPS Aided GEO Augmented Navigation (GAGAN) payload operating in L1 and L5 bands.

APSTAR has announced the successful launch of APSTAR-9. APSTAR-9 will be located at 142°E replacing APSTAR-9A. APSTAR-9 is equipped with 32 C-band and 14 Ku-band transponders. Ku-band will cover the West Pacific and East India Ocean region, providing DTH, VSAT and mobility services.

(Telecompaper) NBN Co and aerospace contractors have successfully launched Sky Muster satellites from the Guiana Space Centre in French Guiana. The NBN satellites will deliver fast broadband to rural and remote Australians. The satellites will provide speeds of 25 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload. They will operate in the Ka Band frequency of 26.540 GHz wavelengths on the electromagnetic spectrum, allowing higher bandwidth communication.
