USDA Report Downgrades Corn Crop

Joe Vansickle USDA’s World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates (WASDE) released today lowers the prospects for feedgrain supplies as delayed plantings reduce yield prospects for corn. Projected corn production is lowered 135 million bushels to 14.0 billion bushels. Average yield is projected at 156.5 bushels per acre, a drop of 1.5 bushels from last month’s projections. read more
USDA Crop Progress Report: 95% Of Corn Planted; Emergence at 85%

USDA's June 9 Crop Progress report indicates corn planting in the 18 selected states is at 95%, just off the 98% pace of the five-year average. Pasture and range is generally in Fair to Good condition. read more

Corn planting progressed a bit last week, moving up 7 points from the week before to 12% planted overall. The five-year average is 47% planted, and last year the overall corn planting progress was 69% at this time. North Carolina and Texas have the most corn in the ground at 89% and 70% completed so far, and slightly behind the five-year averages for each state. read more
