Federal Trade Commission officials have rejected a consumer group's call for an investigation into whether Coca-Cola, Pepsico and other manufacturers have falsely advertised that artificially sweetened soft drinks and food products help people lose weight. The California-based group, U.S. Right to Know , filed citizen petitions in April asking the agency and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to stop companies from branding products with the word "diet" if they contain an artificial sugar substitute, including those containing aspartame, the most widely used sweetener.

CMO Today: Twitter Looks to Cash In on Video Ads

TWITTER ADS : Twitter is rolling out a new video ad product that will allow marketers to buy six-second pre-roll ads on videos from a variety of publishers, CMO Today reports. The ad network, announced at an event for marketers and ad buyers in New York, will mean that a marketer can choose targets like men under 34, and Twitter would place ads before videos being watched by that demographic, the company said.
