A Pepperell man has been accused of driving into a breakdown lane and hitting a police officer with his passenger side mirror in New Hampshire before speeding off. Police said 33-year-old Zachary Rowland, of Pepperell, was charged early Saturday with conduct after an accident, disobeying a police officer and aggravated driving while intoxicated.

A man who was already in Summit County Jail on an aggravated murder charge in the death of his ex-girlfriend is now accused of stabbing another inmate at the jail. Inmates Jeffery J. Conrad and Dennis C. McClelland II were involved in a fight at 9:25 a.m. Nov. 11, at the Summit County Jail that sent one to the hospital, according to a press release from the Summit County Sheriff's Office.
