ETS maintains and operates the environmental test centre of the European Space Agency ESAESTEC. ETS is active in mechanical testing, EMC testing, thermal vacuum testing, altitude simulation and more. Besides testing of spacecraft and space applications, ETS has also become a major supplier of testing services to railway, marine and powerelectric industry. Location ESTEC, Noordwijk, The Netherlands. Responsibilities Performance of preventive and corrective maintenance as well as calibration tasks regarding thermal vacuum facilities thermal vacuum chamber and related auxiliaries such as sun simulator, vacuum pumps, PLC, etc. according relevant procedures. Support facility modifications and upgrades. Thermal vacuum test operator during test execution. Performance of activities related to thermal vacuum test preparation including setup of test installations according to test requirements. Execution of thermal vacuum tests including operation calibration of vacuum gauges, massspectrometer and performance of leak detection checks. Report directly to the Technical Manager Thermal Facilities. Qualification and experience The holder of this post should have Experience executing of thermal vacuum tests and maintenance tasks. Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in an international environment. Good communications skills, team spirit and sense of human relationships. A proactive attitude to solve problems with a critical mind. Ability to work in shift. Flexibility and motivation. Fluent English language skills French andor Dutch language skills would be beneficial.

Weve had significant involvement in over 200 space missions and operate at the very forefront of UK Space Research. RAL Space was recently awarded 99m from the UK Government to develop the National Satellite Test Facility NSTF, which is now in the early construction phase. This stateoftheart facility will provide a world class set of colocated facilities for the assembly, integration and testing of space payloads and satellites. Once completed, the NSTF will have the capability to conduct Thermal, Vibration, Acoustic, Pyroshock, Electromagnetic Compatibility EMC and antennae testing for payloads up to 7 tonnes within clean room conditions. This significant new investment adds to the existing facilities operated by RAL Space department, part of STFC, within UK Research and Innovation UKRI. About The Role We now have a fantastic opportunity for a Thermal Vacuum TVAC Group Leader to join us to take the lead on the operation of the existing and planned TVAC testing facilities. This is a great opportunity to build and lead a large team of test engineers and to shape the operation of the facilities and the test campaigns from the beginning. Your role will be to hold overall technical responsibility for agreeing the test programme from bid stage onwards through to successful delivery. With the majority of the facilities to be expected to operate to ECSSQST2007C, the TVAC Group Leader will work closely with the RAL Space Quality function to ensure compliance through the lifetime of the facilities. An important part of this key role will be engaging with the users of the facility and the wider testing community to keep abreast of the latest technical developments and then championing and driving technical developments in the facility. About You If you have dedicated experience of operating Thermal Vacuum TVAC test facilities as well as previous experience of managing and providing technical leadership to mediumlarge sized teams in this field, then we would really like to hear from you. You may be educated to degree level or equivalent or you may have a vocational qualification. As well as experience in this area, whats important to us is that you have excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence on a technical basis with a wide range of customers. A dedicated, selfmotivated and positive approach is key with the ability to motivate and empower others as this exciting new project moves forwards.
