We are currently looking for a Database Management Engineer to support our customer in Germany. Database Management Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities As Database Management Engineer, you will have the following responsibilities Design, planning and preparation of the new ORACLE databases Design, planning and preparation of the new Postgres databases Database changes under Configuration Management control Administration support to the existing databases Test and prototype installations of the databases Database performance monitoring, tuning and enhancements Implementation and test of database backup and recovery Database migration support Oracle to Postgres Database services provided to EUMETSAT personnel Generation and revision of design and user documentation Provision of oncall service. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree in computer science or a related subject Database installation, configuration and tuning ORACLE database products v11v12 enterprise edition POSTGRES database Database programming, performance monitoring and tuning MySQL or Maria DB would be an asset Certification in the area of the database administration would be an advantage Fluency in English is mandatory another European language is an advantage. The selected candidate will be responsible for supporting database infrastructure design, maintenance, automation, optimization and implementation of new and existing Oracle11g and Postgres databases. Qualifications Competencies You have a university degree in Computer Science or other relevant subject, and demonstrable experience in the required competencies. Essential competencies More than 5 years of relevant experience in the field with focus on corporate systems More than 3 years of Postgres SQL and Oracle database administration More than 3 years of GNULinux andor AIX experience in a business environment Desirable competencies PostgreSQL to Oracle and Oracle to Postgres migration experience In addition, you should have the following characteristics Good written and verbal communication and team working skills Able to work in an organized, systematic and disciplined manner, in particular in relation to applying engineering standards and methods Enthusiastic, selfmotivated, team player, able to work independently The working language is English.
