Leine & Linde EtherCAT implementation provides angular position value on machine, while signal processing inside encoder can deliver velocity, acceleration, alarms, and warnings to control system. This results in multi-variable feedback for control algorithms with cycle times as short as 31.25 µsec.

Featuring standard diameter of 35 mm, Models ECN 1013, EQN 1025, ROC 1013, and ROQ 1025 measure absolute position in different machines and devices with limited installation space. In addition to SSI standard resolution of 13 bits singleturn and 12 bits multiturn, encoders provide high-resolution position value through external interpolation of 1 Vpp output signals. Units also offer 512 signal periods per revolution and extended power-supply range of 4.75–30 V.

Optolink provides secure data transmission up to 1,500 m in harsh industrial environments where electrical noise and long cable lengths can be problematic, such as mining, cranes, wind turbines, and pulp/paper processing applications. Lighter than copper, optical fiber also offers galvanic isolation which can help prevent damage from lightning.
