Car buyers likely to see flood-damaged cars from Texas

Wisconsin may be 1,200 miles away from Texas and Oklahoma, but the effects of wide scale flooding there will eventually be felt in the upper Midwest, because about half of the thousands of flood damaged vehicles that should end up in a salvage yard will instead be redirected to a used car sales lot. "History shows that about half of the vehicles that are damaged by these flood waters return back to the road, and some of them are cleaned up cosmetically and sold to unsuspecting consumers," said Christopher Basso, public relations manager for CARFAX.
