Dividends to pour back into sharemarket in hunt for yield

2016-03-30 06:52:15| Automakers - Topix.net

Almost $9 billion in dividends will be paid to investors this week, and much of it will end up back in the sharemarket despite its volatility, fund managers say. Following their interim reports in February, companies are due to pay out more than $19 billion to shareholders throughout March and April, with almost half of that arriving this week, according to CommSec. More than a third of this amount is from the Commonwealth Bank of Australia alone, which this week pays out $3.4 billion in dividends.
