Maintenance to close 2 railroad crossings

Track maintenance will close two busy railroad crossings on Perrysburg's south side for periods of about three hours each Wednesday, the CSX Transportation railroad said. Eckel Junction Road will be closed at the crossing between Eckel and Fort Meigs from 8:30 a.m. until noon, while Louisiana Avenue will be closed at its railroad crossing in downtown Perrysburg from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. During its closing, Eckel Junction will be detoured via Fort Meigs, River Road, and Dixie Highway.

A Nordstrom Rack clothing store is the newest tenant announced for the Hamilton Crossings shopping center that will be built between Route 222 and Hamilton Boulevard in Lower Macungie Township. Inclusion of the new store was announced Tuesday by Hamilton Crossings developer Jeremy Fogel during a presentation he made about the shopping center for the Council of Real Estate Women.

Options for rail crossings are met with skepticism

Metropolitan Transportation Authority officials were met with consternation on Tuesday from business owners and residents concerned about future work at two railroad crossings at the Glendale-Los Angeles border. Metro held two community meetings, one in Atwater Village and the other at the Glendale Fire Department Environmental Management Center, to outline three proposed options to enhance two problematic crossings - Doran Street and Broadway/Brazil - said Patrick Somerville with HNTB, the firm consulting on the project.
