NREL and Stanford Team up on Peel-and-Stick Solar Cells

2013-01-10 06:00:00| Industrial Newsroom - All News for Today

It may soon be possible to charge cell phones, change tint on windows, or power small toys with peel-and-stick versions of solar cells. Stanford University and NREL showed that thin-film solar cells less than 1-micron thick can be removed from silicon substrate by dipping in water at room temperature. After exposure to 90°C, they can attach to almost any surface. "Peel and Stick: Fabricating Thin Film Solar Cells on Universal Substrates," paper appears in online version of Scientific ...This story is related to the following:Trade Associations
