Viasystems Group Inc. reported operating income of $34.6 million for the fourth quarter of 2014, as compared to a loss of $1.07 million in the prior year quarter. The profit included $23 million related to a settlement of a business interruption insurance claim for a 2012 fire in a factory in China.

Viasystems' sale to TTM clears foreign regulatory hurdles

TTM Technologies Inc. has received all required foreign regulatory approvals for its pending $368 million acquisition of St. Louis-based Viasystems Group Inc. TTM said in a release Tuesday that the deal has been approved by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China, the Federal Cartel Office of Germany and the Estonian Competition Authority. The deal , which the companies struck in September, is still subject to review by the U.S. Federal Trade Commission and approval by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States, and other customary closing conditions.

On Tuesday, Viasystems shareholders gave the OK to California-based TTM Technologies Inc.'s acquisition of the company for $368 million. Viasystems reported a third quarter loss of $16.4 million, wider than the $9.1 million loss reported in the third quarter of 2013.
