DRPI Sues Delaware County Over Landfill Height

The push to limit the height of landfills to 140 feet came from residents who fear the Minquadale landfill will cause air and water pollution.

Commissioners are hesitant to update the countys solid waste plan, which could include a new, private landfill, until they have more public input.

The ReSource Center project aims to reduce the areas carbon footprint by reclaiming items headed to landfill that can be recycled or composted.

The settlement includes a $1.71 million penalty to resolve alleged violations of past water pollution, solid waste and air pollution control laws.
