AMD has updated its 2014 server roadmap, with details on three new projects -- Berlin, Warsaw, and Seattle. The three parts will target the entire server market, with a particular emphasis on the low-power segment of the market.
AMD unveils worlds first 5GHz CPU

In a desperate ploy to stay relevant, AMD has announced the first commercially available CPU to hit 5GHz: the FX-9590. Like its flagship predecessor, the FX-8350, the new chip features four Piledriver modules, which roughly equates to eight cores (but not really). For those of you who can't afford the FX-9590, AMD is also releasing the FX-9370, which is identical except for a slightly lower clock of 4.7GHz. Both chips are unlocked for further overclocking.

AMD is in a very interesting position this year. Not only is it pushing the envelope with server, desktop, and mobile APUs, but it also has the console market on lock down. This week at the Computex Taipei expo, AMD doubled down on its "Unified Gaming Strategy," and promises to work directly with game developers to make PC ports of console games easier going forward.
