EPA awards $4 million in grants for drought research.

EPA is awarding $4 million to four institutions to conduct research to combat effects of drought and extreme events on water quality in watersheds and at drinking water utilities. These grants will provide innovative strategies for protecting water quality and public health during periods of drought. Grant recipients include Clemson University; Water Research Foundation, University of Colorado at Boulder; Public Policy Institute of California; and University of Utah.

Davis County School buses at the Bus Farm in Farmington on Sept. 13, 2013. The Utah Department of Environmental Quality is providing up to $700,000 to reduce emissions from heavy-duty diesel vehicles/equipment and school buses through the Clean Air Retrofit, Replacement and Off-Road Technology - or CARROT - program.
