Hormel Institute unveils donation from University of Minnesota

AUSTIN, Minn- It was big news Saturday as folks at the Hormel Institute released the news of a donation from the University of Minnesota for $1.5 million dollars to help fund one of their latest expansion projects, the Live Learning Center. The $4.5 million addition will include a lecture hall with more than 250 chairs capable of seating the entire Institute staff, as well as a multi-purpose lab capable of holding high definition conference calls, but even with this generous donation, those with Hormel are asking the community to help donate a little more.

Students in Austin are just down the road from a place known for their cancer research and Tuesday seventh and eighth graders at Ellis Middle School were able to work side-by-side with some of the researchers.
