Republic Services President and CEO Don Slager received $12,917,801 in total compensation in 2016, up from $10,859,487 in 2015 and $5,705,379 in 2014. That included a base salary of $1,100,000, stock awards of $8,185,672, non-equity incentive plan compensation of $3,311,750 and $320,379 in all other compensation. He has been CEO since 2011 and president since 2008. Slager also has served as principal operations officer from 2013 to 2014. Previously he was chief operating officer of Allied Waste Industries Inc., which was bought by Republic in 2008.
