On Nov. 10, 1979, a 106-car Canadian Pacific Railway freight train carrying explosive and poisonous chemicals derailed in Mississauga, Ont., leading to evacuation of the entire city. On Nov. 10, 1979, a Canadian Pacific freight train skidded off the tracks and exploded like a bomb, spewing clouds of poisonous gas over the suburban city.
