Airlines for America (A4A) commended European Union (EU) Parliament for its work in agreeing to extend "stop the clock" provision on unilateral application of EU Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS) to international aviation. This will stay application of EU ETS to flights to and from EU through 2016. In comment, A4A President and CEO Nicholas E. Calio said that this extension protects "U.S. travelers and shippers from unwarranted EU ETS tax hikes that drive up the cost of air travel."
