Iron ore prices were slipping by 5.12% to $49.60 a dry metric tonne, according to a price index compiled by Metal Bulletin. The index fell below the $50 level for the first time since April 16. The index is down for the ninth straight session, marking the longest losing streak seen since last August, Business Insider reports.
