AT&T adds spectrum licenses to support booming mobile data use

AT&T has acquired licenses for nearly nationwide contiguous 10x10 megahertz block of high-quality spectrum, which covers 96 percent of the U.S. population, for $18.2 billion . "Growth in our customers' mobile data usage continues to explode, driven by mobile video traffic," said John Stankey , chief strategy officer at AT&T.
