(Telecompaper) Amazon Web Services (AWS) has announced plans to open three new data centre hosting facilities in Spain to help local and EU customers meet data capacity demand as well as residency and privacy requirements. The decision means Spain will become the company's seventh infrastructure region in Europe alongside France, Germany, Ireland, the UK, Sweden and Italy when it opens in late 2022 or early 2023. AWS currently has 69 "Availability Zones" or data centres across 22 infrastructure regions worldwide.
