(Telecompaper) Bharti Airtel reported revenues for its fiscal second quarter to September up 3.4 percent year-on-year to INR 246.52 billion. While mobile data revenues rose 21 percent to INR 45.36 billion, total revenues were under pressure from the sale of some activities in Africa and the currency devaluation in Nigeria. EBITDA improved a faster 14.5 percent to INR 94.66 billion, and the EBITDA margin was up by 3.7 points to 38.4 percent thanks to improvement in both south Asia and Africa. Net profit fell slightly to INR 14.61 billion from INR 15.36 billion a year ago, due to higher interest costs to finance spectrum acquisitions. Operating free cash flow still increased by 23.9 percent to INR 41.79 billion, and net debt dropped to 2.28x EBITDA from 2.37 in the previous quarter.
