Main Responsibilities The consultant will be expected to contribute to all the tasks listed below Understanding of existing features and underlying code Introducing enhancements based on Europa Web Guide, the new reference tool for the development of Commission websites The main tasks will consist in the design and development of new key features, by using stateofthe art components and approaches, including user interface responsiveness. The right candidate will also perform the following task Improve the existing IPCHEM user interface Chemicals Search, Data Console, Data Basket, etc. Create new features for the Chemicals Advanced Search and the Chemicals Registry Management Edit the technical documentation for the software development and maintenance. Moreover, the person needs to be able to work in a multicultural environment and communicate with the JRC IPCHEM Team colleagues and other relevant staff inside and outside JRC in English language both spoken and written. The Ideal Candidate Knowledge and skills requested At least 4 years of experience in designing and developing web and multitier applications, in particular focused on the presentation layer Be able to translate user requirements into technical specifications and to implement and integrate them into the IPCHEM Platform To have knowledge of UML and agile software development methodologies, experience with frequent releases and resilience to changes in priorities To have software design skills as user interface usability and responsiveness, distributed architecture, three tiers, service oriented.
