Are you interested in applying your expertise in remote sensing or atmospheric physics to enrich our understanding of climate change? This is a unique opportunity for an expert in atmospheric physics to lead the development of atmosphere products and enhance prototype tools for calibration, validation and longterm monitoring activities. You will be able to apply your knowledge within an operational environment, delivering solutions and responding to the evolving needs of our customers. In this role you will be integral to enhancing future products and services for the Copernicus Atmosphere and Marine Environment Monitoring Services and its customers. Along with a degree in remote sensing, atmospheric physics, or another relevant discipline, you should be a committed team player as you will be expected to collaborate and cooperate with worldclass scientists and engineers to drive forward this groundbreaking area. You will also have opportunity to apply creative solutions to complex technical and operational situations. You will also be able to demonstrate that you have skills and experience in the following areas Advanced knowledge of optical remote sensing techniques for aerosols and other atmospheric composition parameters Experience in retrieval of aerosol and other atmospheric composition products from optical instruments Experience in the use of radiative transfer models Experience in developing scientific application software within scientific projects involving interactions with user communities Experience with operational data processing systems and very good skills in a higher programming language e.g. C, Fortran are advantages Organised and methodical with strengths in analysis, synthesis and presentation Strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to apply good communication skills to the interactions within a team and between teams.
