AutoNation Reports Strong Used Car Sales During Fourth Quarter

During AutoNations fourth-quarter earnings call, the company reported that its retail used vehicle unit sales for the fourth quarter of 2014 increased by 9% overall, to 53,534 units. On a same-store basis, it was at 52,546 units, a 7% increase. For the entire year, total used units sold increased up to 214,910, a 9% increase. AutoNations new vehicle sales were only slightly better during 2014 with a 9% overall increase in sales at 318,008 units in 2014, or, on a same-store basis, a 7% increase with 311,128 vehicles sold.
