(Telecompaper) BlackBerry introduced its new Z3 Jakarta Edition smartphone at a launch event in Indonesia. Available from 15 May, the device is expected to retail for IDR 2.199 million. The affordable smartphone was designed especially for users in Indonesia, one of BlackBerry's biggest markets. It comes with a 5-inch display, long-life battery and support for Bahasa typing on the touchscreen, as well as content exclusive to Indonesia, such as BBM Stickers featuring the Punakawan by Indonesian illustrator Susilo Saptoady. A limited edition model featuring the inscription "Jakarta" on the back of the device also will be available. The phone will sell at BlackBerry Lifestyle stores in Indonesia as well as authorized partners Teletama Artha Mandiri (TAM) and Mitra Telekomunikasi Selular (MTS) and local operators Indosat and XL.
