Job Title Buyer Electronics Job Reference Number BE01 Job Description Purpose Job purpose To facilitate the procurement of electronics components assemblies and related services. To negotiate and procure parts and services for com dev, whilst ensuring procurement runs efficiently and smoothly. Key Tasks Responsible for the management of key suppliers and subcontractors for the supply of Electrical, Electronic and Electromechanical EEE Components and for the supply of flight and nonflight standard populated assemblies and related parts and services. Liaison with external key suppliers and subcontractors. Ensuring applicable documents and requirements are effectively implemented. Leading supplier visits. Main point of contact internally and externally for given suppliers projects. Identifying potential supply chain risks and recommendation of mitigation strategies. Identifying new suppliers and working with existing suppliers to extend the approved scope of work, as determined by the needs of the business. Providing procurement status updates to the business. General tasks within the department such as generating order reports and expediting late and outstanding purchase orders with suppliers. Update the Pegasus Operations purchasing system with latest delivery and cost information. Update Excel tracker documents with latest order information. Check account and payment status where required. Liaise with finance on accounts and invoice queries. Setup new accounts with suppliers and on Operations, including attendance at Supplier Approval Team meetings where appropriate. Sending RFQs to suppliers and negotiation of prices and lead times Place new orders when requested according to approved processes. Working as part of a cross functional team, with other subject matter experts, including Design Engineering, EEE Parts Engineering, Parts Materials and Process and Project Management to facilitate the effective buying of Companies requirements. Compliance to the companys Quality Management System QMS. Reports Actions Produce management reports from Operations and Opera Procurement status reports Attend Project and Departmental meetings as required Qualifications Experience skills A broad working knowledge of procurement and purchasing of electronic components and related services from within a high tech SpaceAerospace engineering environment Good communicator and supplier facing skills Ability to work as an integral member of a team Engineering or Technical Apprenticeship or Degree is desirable Good interpersonal skills Good computer user skills.
