We are currently looking for a CFD Aerodynamicist to support our customer in the United Kingdom. CFD Aerodynamicist Key Tasks and Responsibilities Driven by an extensive and pioneering technology programme, our prestigious customer in the UK has made a breakthrough in aerospace propulsion technology that will allow the development of engines capable of propelling aircraft to over five times the speed of sound or directly into Earth orbit. As part of the Development Team you will have the following responsibilities Simulation of a number of aerodynamic problems such as rocket combustion chambers, nozzle flows, and sub and supersonic intake flows Interpretation of CFD simulations and assisting in engine component design Implementation of subroutines or userdefined functions is desirable as many of our applications require tailoring of the CFD software Development of close working relationships with experimentalists and designers within the team, and be able to interact with industry and university partners. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience Engineering degree or equivalent a PhD specialising in CFD would be desirable Excellent knowledge of CFD for compressible flows, turbulence models, numerical analysis, validation and verification Experience with scientific programming and knowledge of high performance computing HPC Knowledge of Fluent, CFX or Tau Practical experience in the simulation of one of the following applications is highly desirable Intake aerodynamics propulsion integration Supersonic expansion nozzles and base flows Fluency in English is mandatory.
