CSX adding resources to obey new slowdown mandates

Although CSX Corp. has voluntarily limited its trains carrying crude oil to 40 miles per hour since a safety advisory last year, the company is expanding its precautions to be in line with a U.S. Department of Transportation's emergency order , which requires the speed limit for trains carrying crude and other flammable commodities such as ethanol. "CSX will work quickly and diligently to implement the U.S. Department of Transportation's new directives on trains carrying crude oil and other high hazard flammable commodities," spokeswoman Melanie Cost said in an email to the Business Journal.
