Cable & Wireless Communications PLC , a telecoms company serving Caribbean and Central American markets, Tuesday said first-quarter revenue rose 4% to $583 million, helped by revenue from recently-acquired Columbus International Inc. The company had net debt of $2.61 billion on June 30, up by $239 million since March 31, "primarily due to costs associated with the acquisition of Columbus and a scheduled pension top-up payment of GBP31 million." Revenue from the company's Cable & Wireless Communications arm rose 4%, including a 12% increase at Columbus.
