Continued volatility in financial markets, heavier carcass weights and slower market speeds all worked against cattle prices this week. Notwithstanding a surge in cattle futures prices on Tuesday, cash calf and feeder cattle prices could muster only steady money at best, as futures prices hovered and then crumbled again on Friday.
