(Telecompaper) China Mobile will lower charges for its 4G plans by 50 percent, Xinhua reports. The moves comes in response to wide criticism of its high data fees for 4G services. Under the new plans, 4G subscribers can access 2 GB of LTE data for CNY 70 per month. The prior plan offered 1 MB of data for the same amount. The new pricing will take effect on 1 June. China Mobile also received complaints about the weak signal and limited coverege of its 4G offering. The operator ended April with 4.79 million subscribers in the 4G segment compared with 2.79 million at end-March. The operator's overall mobile base reached 784.61 million by end-April, up from 781.08 million the month before.
