China appoints new chairman for CNPC, current chief Zhou retires

China National Petroleum Corp on Monday said the government has appointed Wang Yilin as its new chairman and that current chief Zhou Jiping will retire, as part of Beijing's reshuffle of top management at the country's oil firms. CNPC, China's largest state energy group and parent of PetroChina Co Ltd, made the announcement on its website www.cnpc.com.cn .
