China\'s sweet tooth satisfied by increasing sugar imports

Up until 2013, the compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of global raw sugar output stood at 5.4%, representing a shift from short supply to over supply in many regions. However, the continuing decline in the output of raw sugar production worldwide, which is set to reach 175.5Mn tonnes by the end of 2014, will continue to fall well into the next calendar year.
