As an intern at Texas Instruments Inc. two years ago, Gautham Ramachandran had an idea to build a touch-screen robot to use for testing. As an employee, he helped develop technology to send special vibration alerts from a smartphone to a smartwatch when an email or text comes from mom or a friend.
