According to May 15 producer price report by U.S. Department of Labor, national construction materials prices slipped 0.1% in April and are up 0.4% year over year. Nonresidential construction materials prices decreased 0.1% for month and down 0.4% over last 12 months. In comment, ABC Chief Economist Anirban Basu said "contractors should not be surprised if nonresidential construction materials prices bounce back significantly over the next several months."
