It has now been over 30 years that comprehensive CS solutions for space systems and applications, both on the ground and in space, have been part and parcel of this odyssey. Mission The key person shall support the activities of ground segment developments in the area of Software and Monitoring and Control MC related to the ground stations. In doing this, the key person shall support The Engineering activities of Phase B of future ground segments in the areas of ground stations software and MC systems. The follow up of the detailed design and development activities of Phase CD of the future ground segments in the areas of ground stations software and MC systems. The analysis and the implementationtesting of changes, or reengineering that may be required on the basis of user requirements or maintainability issues The testing and validation of new software and databases releases The automated operational Ground stations procedures and related databases The remote operation and the maintenance of EUMETSAT Ground Stations in the areas of Monitoring Control and SW architecture Transfer protocol for the spacecraft telemetry, telecommand and mission data The STC Lab activities by contributing to the system definition and specification of STC Lab applications in support of the different programmes and by contributing to the working practices definition and improvement. Profile The Key person shall have a university degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline relevant to the job profile together with the experience and capability to fulfil the assigned tasks with a minimum of supervision. Heshe shall have, as a prerequisite, a demonstrated experience in a similar function for at least 5 years. This experience shall include in particular System software engineering in an operational earth observation environment Monitoring Control software application Maintenance and Configuration Ground Stations Monitoring and Control LinuxWindows operating system TCPIP, SNMP, Serial based communications C and Java programming languages and XML Longterm maintainability analysis and integrating software into a new operating system andor across computer platforms Furthermore, it would be a distinct advantage for the Key person to have experience with some of the following Ground stations system and subsystem design and development for TTC, mission specific andor satellite communications ground stations C and Java programming languages and XML Knowledge of multiplexingdemultiplexing schemes applied in Space Links for TTC and payload data transmission e.g. ECSS and CCSDS Standards. Data Base Applications and related configurations control mechanisms Fluency in English written and oral is mandatory.
