A recent survey by email and web security vendor Titan Technologies reported that 76% of small and medium sized businesses across various industries including the automotive industry stated that they are under pressure to allow more access to social media in the workplace. Almost half, 44.4%, said that they do not have security in place to protect from specific web threats. The web filtering solutions provider encourages small business organizations (SMB) to deploy formal social media policies to avoid costly wrangles over data ownership in the future.
