Silchar Dec. 29: The Cachar administration in Assam and the Food Corporation of India are at loggerheads over the procurement of paddy from farmers in the district. The issues range from the highest ceiling of buying the winter Sali paddy from farmers in this rice-growing district to the time of such purchase and the central agency's insistence that the purchase of the most suitable variety of paddy should be conducted at the doorsteps of its regional office here.
