(Telecompaper) Dell is nearing a deal to sell its IT services business to Japanese operator NTT for about USD 3.5 billion, Re/Code reported. NTT executives are expected to formalize their offer in a meeting with Dell CEO Michael Dell in New York on 09 March. Dell is selling the activities to help raise cash to pay for its takeover of EMC. Dell hops to raise as much as USD 10 billion from asset sales and is also considering selling some software operations like Quest and SonicWall. Other bidders interested in the IT services arm, formerly known as Perot Systems, included Atos and TCS.
