Dish and Amazon strike deal for cloud-based 5G network

Dish Network has announced a new deal with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to collaborate on the construction of a 5G network. AWS will reportedly provide the infrastructure for the cloud-based network, set to be built using Open RAN standards.  If successful, the deployment could be a major step forward Open RAN technology, as well as accelerating the shift to the public cloud for the telecoms industry.
