Dollar weighs on US apparel and textile exports

US exports of textile and apparel dropped by 3.2% last year, weighed down by the strength of the US dollar against other currencies, which made exports relatively more expensive in foreign markets, as well as increased production capacity in China for products that compete with US exports.
