It's hard to imagine a time when crossing the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge only cost 50 cents, even as the Metropolitan Transportation Authority is pitching yet another toll hike that could sock drivers without E-ZPass with a $16 fee to cross it. NY1's Amanda Farinacci filed the following report as part of our coverage of the 50th anniversary of the bridge.
